The library can supply photocopies or PDF scans of journal articles
and parts of books held in the library, though we cannot copy from an
unpublished thesis without permission of the author. Tyndale House
receives about 200 current journals and has a similar number of older
discontinued series. These journals cover biblical studies, theology and related
areas. It also holds almost 40,000 books, mostly in the area of biblical
studies. The acquisition policy is to have a copy of every book of academic
interest in biblical studies and Bible background.
In accordance with the 1988 Copyright Act, as amended in 2003, electronic copies are supplied on the following conditions:
* only one copy of the same material may be supplied;
* to the best of your knowledge no other person with whom you work has made, or intends to make, a request for substantially the same material, for substantially the same purpose, at or about the same time as this request.A signed declaration agreeing with these conditions must be returned by post. These conditions do not apply to very old material (where the author has been dead for more than 70 years) or if you have the written permission of the copyright holder. Please note that no part of a thesis may be photocopied without the written consent of the author.
Before requesting an item, please check the Book Catalogue or Periodical List.
Send your request by
(or by post to Copy Service, Tyndale House, 36 Selwyn Gardens, Cambridge, CB3
9BA, England). Remember to include:
* your postal address (if
you want postal copies)
* call numbers of books. Check them here.
* location of journals. Check them here.
Orders
should consist of a maximum of five items. If you require more than that,
please make two or more orders, which will be invoiced and posted separately.
(You can of course pay for them together if you wish.) You can pay online here.
We will invoice you, and send a copyright declaration for you to complete, with your photocopies. Our charges are kept to a minimum, and are calculated to cover the cost of copying and administration only. The copying is generally done by students at Tyndale House, who value this opportunity to supplement their income. With effect from 1 March 2003 the charges will be:
